Rowland Door Services were founded in 1986 as a partnership after working in the industry since leaving school. During this time I felt that many of the leading companies at the time were not offering a level of service and professionalism that could be achieved. It was this that convinced me that there was an opportunity here and prompted me to leave the company I was employed by at the time and start Rowland Door Services.
Along with most business start ups, initially, much hard work was required to get us up and running. After acquiring our first few customers and because of our determination to improve on the level of service that they were used to, we began to earn a reputation in the trade that led, by word of mouth. In 1991 we became a limited company after steady growth in our early years.
We are members of DHF (Door and Hardware Federation), which incorporates DSMA (Door and Shutter Manufacturers Association) and ABHM (Association of Building Hardware Manufacturers). We also hold Quality Assurance Certificate ISO 9001.
Approximately six years ago, because of the growth we had achieved, it became apparent that a major overhaul of the business was required. Plans were put in place, including moving to our current premises, along with other changes to ensure the company was in a position to enable it to operate at maximum efficiency and also to expand. This we have done, including the acquisition of certain prestigious clients, e.g. Land Rover, BMW, Argos, Birmingham International Airport and DHL, Tesco who now rely on us for all their industrial door and loading bay installations and maintenance.
